I just hiked the Inca trail in Peru! It was one of the hardest things I have ever done both mentally and physically! Before we began one of our guides took me aside and said, “Are you the leader of this group?” I responded “yes.” He leaned in closer and looked me in the eye and said “You have a great responsibility. You will determine how the group does on this trail. They will look to you as their guide to find strength, encouragement and positive thinking. If you are positive they will be and if you are scared they will be.” I said “Yes, I don’t take that responsibility lightly.” He said “yes, but, this is even more serious because the mountain hears you. She will hear your thoughts and your words and she will give you whatever you are asking for. It is imperative that you keep you thoughts pure as we embark on this journey.”

Remember when dad used to say, “You must earn a living, the harder you work the more you should get paid and back-breaking work is what earns respect, nobody gets a free ride.” Isn’t it time that we challenge these old beliefs?

Do you throw your shoulders forward, your chest sinks in and you turn your lips down? If you were to take the shape of happy into your body would your emotional being feel happy? Try it now. Just smile and see how you feel.
You excitedly find your seat in the theater, anxiously awaiting the next box office hit, with hopes of an emotional journey filled with peaks and valleys. Mindlessly eating handfuls of popcorn and indulging in sour patch kids or licorice ropes you are strapped in and ready for a roller coaster ride of sensation. Having surfed … Continue reading Where has all the PASSION gone?
