The spirit can be a lot like a small child. Trauma, pain, ridicule or judgment may have caused it to flee long ago or like a fragile vase that has been tossed about, it may have shattered into a million tiny pieces. This practice is about developing trust and an environment that is safe to heal all the cracks and invoke a reunion. The spirit is our eternal life force bringing super-natural powers like eternal youth, fire, passion and enthusiasm. Spirit can flow in and fill all your cracks, bringing light to all the darkness and heal your soul. Spirit will leave you wanting for nothing. Needs and desires will temporarily dissolve as accessing the spirit takes presence and in presence you inevitably discover everything is here, exactly where you are.
Are you stressed out and as a result experiencing depression, anxiety or poor health? Are you stuck in the cycle of wake up, go to work, go home, sleep just to do it all again tomorrow and the only way you can see to escape this hamster wheel is an unbelievable stroke of luck like winning the lottery? If you answered “no” you are one of the few who are already living a work free, passion filled, purpose driven life but, if you answered “yes” you have likely bought into the belief system passed down by our elders. Remember when dad used to say, “You must earn a living, the harder you work the more you should get paid and back-breaking work is what earns respect, nobody gets a free ride.” Isn’t it time that we challenge these old beliefs?
Be my best friend. Don’t be a grown up. Play with me. Let’s have an adventure, see the world with wonder, marvel at the beauty that is everywhere and search for answers to all of the world’s secrets. Let’s be best friends like the time when best friends meant something.
There was no pain Jay could inflict that could even begin to compete with the pain brought on when I had the thought, “I didn’t even say goodbye.” The power that thought had to devastate me was insurmountable. I am writing a book and I thought it would be interesting to try something new... I have decided to release my progress one chapter at a time and get feedback... Really would LOVE feedback! Thanks Chapter One The ultimate sacrifice If felt reassuring to work out the details, like when I would finally close my eyes to this world and never have to wake up. The setting of the sun seemed like the perfect time to disappear into the abyss unnoticed. I knew that soon the beach would settle into its nighttime slumber as everyone would pack up and head home. Until then, I passed the time with thoughts of the world that would continue on without me. I even considered what my tombstone would say as I lay six feet under it—Angel Ryan Born June 30, 1997 * Died June 29th 2014, Doomed from day one.
If Love Is the Truth The one we are all seeking If life is simply the manifest Of our collective dreaming And our thoughts are consumed With hurt, pain and war Then its no wonder true love Is hard to find anymore
Do you work sacrificing health and well-being and eventually you arrive at someone’s idea of the top? Then, upon arrival at this preconceived idea of joy, do you think “now I can be happy”, and you wonder “why don’t I feel any different?” So, you decide you should start pretending until the line gets so blurred that you wonder to yourself “Do I even know what happiness is?”
Simply put, yogis show up when others cant find the strength! Know that on the mat you will look directly into the eyes of your biggest demons and be forced to conquer or be defeated and walk away. These demons are our biggest fears, those fears like; failure, not being good enough or worthy of love. Not everyone is cut out to be a yogi…it takes a certain type. You must BE BRAVE, strong and bendable, because yoga will test your limits and the weak WILL break.
Yoga Studios seem to be popping up on every corner. What has caused the sudden interest in this ancient tradition? Are we in search of healing, transformation and devotion? Because that was the original intent of yoga which literally translates to the yoking of the mind, the body and the spirit--or is it just another fad driven by twenty something, girls adorned with mala beads wanting an excuse to wear the hottest trend in yoga pants and work out?
