Today try letting go of your story. Wipe your slate clean. Arrive into this moment free. Unpack all of your baggage including; where you have been, what you have done and who you are supposed to be. Then, let go of the strings attaching you to your desires; the places you intend to go, what you intend to do, create or become.
Every day I try to look at the same things, hold the same yoga poses, go to the same places and see them differently. I seriously am a HABIT breaking fool! I view HABIT as the enemy! I struggle with the same boundaries as everyone else. I get it! How do you live in the same house, with the same people, go to the same job and still expect the unexpected?
I have survived many devastating storms in my life! So, many that you would think if I spotted a storm coming I may run and hide! This is going to sound crazy but, the truth is, I often find myself praying for a storm. Sometimes it seems my whole life has been swept up in … Continue reading What is trying to leave your Life?
Busyness is the temporary band-aid covering up the ever growing wound of emptiness. It seemed that the busier I got the more time was passing me by. In a race against time and determined to win, I kept trying to pack more into each day. But, then I noticed that packing my schedule was like giving nitrous to the rocket ship that was my life and watching it blast off without me. If I was going to win this race I was going to have to take a drastically different approach!
If I was to tell my life stories in a series of dreams, this would be where the scariest nightmares happened many years earlier. The ones that wake you in the middle of the night in a cold sweat and you feel relief that it was only just a dream.
"O monkey, disillusioned by our curse, you will for a long time be unaware of your own strength,." This was what was said to Hanuman, the monkey headed, Diety in the Hindu myth just before his super powers were taken from him. In the myth it is said that “the power of the words of the great sages, left Hanuman deprived of his strength.” However, there was no magic. His powers weren’t really taken from him. He was just put into a trance where he forgot he had ever had them. He only finds his powers again when he is reminded.
Happiness isn’t something that happens outside of us. It is something that happens inside. It isnt in things or experiences. We need to stop allowing our TV programming be our guide to happiness. Watching every night and thinking "They are happy. Maybe if I have that thing I can be happy too."

Attendee- If we can connect with the universe and get whatever we want, why do we want to do yoga or any asanas, we could just ask the universe to increase the prana level in the body. I am sounding too easy here but if we are ready to accept without any restriction cant we get what we want? Debbie- You are absolutely right! If you have evolved beyond Samsara and have no more need for the contrast the human experience offers you (maybe you have realized enlightenment) then you would be able to heal your body or elevate your consciousness in that way. However, at that point you would have no more need for your human form as you would have transcended beyond it. There are people who walk the line between enlightened beings but they are here taking human form and these people have removed themselves from the confines of society maybe they live meditating in the Himalayan mountains or in an ashram where they do not have to navigate through the world of form. But, those of us who are navigating this world; who go to work and have families and experiences, we pick up lots of Amma (physical and emotional toxins) and we use the asana and pranayama to light our inner fire (agni) and throw all of these toxins into the fire so that we can once again have a clear line of communication with the divine. To be a powerful creator you must have a clear line of communication and strong antenna (this is the susumna nadi where we bridge the gap between the earth and the divine)
While the second limb Niyama, has to do with self-discipline and spiritual observances. This limb reflects the second chakra as is considered the home of the chi energy. When we have elevated to this chakra it is a sign that our vibration or vital life force energy has increased. We are no longer concerned merely with survival but also learning to enjoy our experience, as this chakra is awakened the yogi will find her/himself desiring to experience pleasure in many different forms.
